Nancy Airley

Becca Lamont is a Workshop Leader and Collaborator at At the Root Theatre. She is a performer and workshop facilitator based in Edinburgh and working across the Lothians.

She trained at Queen Margaret University in Drama and Performance. She graduated from Queen Margaret in 2018 with a BA (Hons) in Drama and Performance. She joined At the Root Theatre in 2016 and has been working with us ever since - leading our Uphall workshops and now leading our Junior Groups.

Since graduating, Becca has been working as a freelancer in the industry and has worked with companies like MBArts.

Kyle McRoberts is a Workshop Leader, Co-Founder and Collaborator at At the Root Theatre. He is a performer and workshop facilitator based and working in West Lothian.

He trained in Acting & Performance at New College Lanarkshire. He graduated in 2016 with a HND in Acting & Performance. Since then he has been working with At the Root Theatre across most of our workshops. He also performs in a double act, George & John, with Matthew. 

He is currently working with Becca and the Junior Group online.

Lisa McDonald is a Workshop Leader and Collaborator at At the Root Theatre. She is a performer, director, writer and workshop facilitator working across the Lanarkshires and the Lothians.

She trained at Coatbridge College and Queen Margaret University. She graduated in 2018 with a BA (Hons) in Drama and Performance from Queen Margaret. She is the co-founder and artistic director of Simply Surreal and Central Belters. Lisa has been producing shows for the past six years.

She is currently leading the Seniors and Adults with At the Root.

Nancy Airley is a Workshop Leader and Collaborator at At the Root Theatre. She is a performer and workshop facilitator working in West Lothian.

She trained at Edinburgh College in musical theatre, drama and dance. She graduated with a BA in Dance and Drama from Edinburgh College in 2020. She has a wealth of experience in singing, dancing and acting. She has performed in many shows and showcase events.

 

She is currently leading the Kids with At the Root.
 

Creative Director
Matthew Swan

Matthew Swan is the Creative Director and Co-Founder of At the Root Theatre. He is a creative producer, writer and workshop facilitator based in West Lothian. 

He trained at New College Lanarkshire and Queen Margaret University. He graduated from Queen Margaret in 2018 with a First Class BA (Hons) in Drama and Performance. During his time at university, he developed At the Root Theatre with a group of friends to create opportunities for young people in West Lothian to access the arts.

Since graduating, Matthew has been working as a freelancer in the industry and has worked with organisations including: The Performance Academy, Star Harmonies, Tribe Porty Youth Theatre and West Lothian Libraries.
