jade McDonald 
actor
Jade has been cutting her teeth on the stage since she was ten years old, with the help of the Kirkintilloch Players Amateur Dramatics Society, who gave her the opportunity to compete in SCDA competitions, where she won awards for both her acting and writing capabilities. She graduated from Glasgow Kelvin College with an HND in Acting and Performance in 2018, then continued her studies at Queen Margaret and Edinburgh Napier universities on the BA (Hons) Acting for Stage and screen course and graduated with a first class in 2020. She has performed in the fringe festival for the last two years and has recently earned her first professional voice over credit.
Jade has worked with At the Root Theatre as a special guest at our Adult Acting Group Mock Auditions. Jade was part of the panel and gave feedback to participants.
kris cummins
writer
Kris J. Cummins has written and directed countless short films and comedy sketches for BBC Scotland. He is one half of comedy duo Kris & Dave, and has co-directed BBC Scotland programmes such as Chris McQueer's HINGS and Tales from the Pub, both available on iPlayer. His online videos have gathered over 20 million views and he has won numerous awards for his short films including Best Scottish Director and Best Comedy Film for Crackpot.
Kris has worked with At the Root Theatre as a writer of the 2020 / 2021 Winter Series where he wrote 'Spite.' He is also writing our Adult Acting Group 2021 Production.
Rachel Flynn
performer / producer / playwright
Rachel is an actor, writer and producer from Edinburgh. She is co-founder of Interabang Productions. She is currently studying an MLitt in Playwriting and Screenwriting at St Andrew's University and previously studied Musical Theatre at LSMT. Her debut play Being Liza received five star acclaim at Just Festival at Edinburgh Fringe and went on to tour to Gregory Hall, Tayport. Other writing credits include: short plays for Short Attention Span Theatre, co-write of Said the Dove to the Olive Tree - development supported by Stellar Quines and two short films as part of Interabang Productions online series SceneToSeen. She is currently working on a commission "The Magdalene" for a theatre in Malta.
Rachel has worked with At the Root Theatre as a writer of the 2020 / 2021 Winter Series where she wrote 'Bubbly.' She is also a guest workshop leader in our Creative Writing Series in 2021.
