Lost in the Shadows

Lost in the Shadows was part of Another Evening of Entertainment in 2016 - the show was a celebration of all things theatre, music and local. We believe in producing shows the entertain and engage local audiences with local people.

Lost in the Shadows was our second devised performance and was directed by Nichole Cook and devised by our Senior Drama Group.

Lost in the Shadows was a physical theatre piece created to explore physical theatre, music and different theatre practitioners. The story explored the themes of growing up, family and staying connected to friends and family. It was a powerful piece set to music and explored set, costume and lighting.

The play used physical theatre and music to tell the story of a girl who gets lost in the woods.

Lost in the Shadows was performed on the 15th and 16th of July at the Regal Theatre in Bathgate as part of our Another Evening of Entertainment weekend.

This was our first exploration into the wonderful world of physical theatre. We started by engaging participants with exercises such as chair duets and movement to music then began to look at how we tell stories through our bodies.

The process of creating Lost in the Shadows created opportunities for the young people to explore new areas of theatre and performance. It enabled them to express a story and feelings without dialogue.
